Pete Monaghan paints vernacular architecture of Wales. Excited by the shapes and contours of buildings and how these building sit within the welsh landscape his mixed-media work attempts to capture the energy of place. He applies paint freely, splashing and dribbling, often adding collaged maps and takeaway coffee cups.
The welsh art critic Peter Wakelin describes it as "all rusty tin and telegraph poles".
