I have always loved drawing and as a small child, as long as I had a pencil and paper, I was happy. At School I was encouraged to study more academic subjects in order to get a proper job. I spent years working for an Insurance Company but always painted 'on the side'. During lengthy meetings and seminars, I sometimes amused myself by sketching people. and occasionally got caught our and remanded. usually after my manager had taken a good look at the sketches though!

About 15 years ago, I took the plunge and left my salaried employment to become a self employed Artist. I didn't want to have regrets later in life; better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all. I now divide my time between painting for Exhibitions, painting commissions and teaching

My preferred medium is pastel and I run workshops and tutor holidays, in this medium as well as demonstrating to Art Groups. It gives me enormous pleasure to watch my students progress from tentative beginners to confident pastel Artists.

I was brought up in Wales and spent 30 years in rural Wiltshire before returning to Wales in 2016. It will come as no surprise that my favourite subject is British wildlife, however, encouraged by my son who is a cyclist on the Welsh squad, I have also become known for my paintings of racing cyclists. I am selling limited edition prints and greeting cards of these paintings in cycle shops across the Wet Country and South Wales.

I am a fan of social media and use Facebook, twitter and Instagram to share my work with a wider audience. To find out more about Workshops, Painting Holidays etc, my contact details are below.
